Spinal Decompression SPINAL DECOMPRESSION Spinal decompression is achieved with a special traction table at the Atoka Chiropractic Clinic that supports your upper and lower torso with nicely padded straps. As the computer pulls your spine at the calculated amount, it gently separates the verterae from each other, creating a vacuum inside the discs. This allows the pressure to be removed from the nerve root. It happens microscopically each time but cumulatively the results are dramatic. Also, this pumping action introduces nutrients from the outside of the discs to the inside, promoting healing.
